Rock Climbing ROCKS!!

My friend Katherine and I went rock wall climbing this weekend and we are hooked. We spent about three hours climbing and belaying for each other. It was AWESOME!! I will definitely be doing this again. I can't wait to go!!!!! If anyone wants to go, give me a call!

I have proof that we went. Check out my smilebox slideshow. Be sure to turn the speed down a bit before you start the show otherwise the photos go too fast!!

Chicken Farm Video

Chicken Farm video in the You Tube video section. By the way - we did NOT name the barn. Anna did it all on her own.

To those who don't know the story. Anna's Papa and Grandma Baker live in this very lovely spot. Very few neighbors, hardly any noise, great view, etc. One sad, sad day the neighbor above them sold the land to a chicken farmer. The chicken farmer (let's call him CF) then had the brilliant idea of building a very large barn to house his chickens. Unfortunately, the barn is very close Papa and Grandma Baker's house. The CF didn't file for proper permits and didn't put in erosion control. Thus, during the bad storms and flooding last year, all the land above them eroded down and washed out their driveway (costing thousands of dollars). CF didn't want to pay.... But he did in the end.

Needless to say, this among many other annoyances (they can hear and see it from their once quiet house) has caused some bad feeling to be created.

Now you know... the rest of the story.

Dancing Fairy

Check out the new video of Anna dancing. Sorry it's sideways. I can't remember how to rotate it. Does any one know how to rotate the video???

Anna is a little girl! When did that happen?

So at what moment does your baby become a little girl? Is it at the first word, the first step? Well, for me it is when Anna insisted on dressing up like a fairy (she found a box of dress up clothes). She then continued to walk around the house saying "I a fairy. Anna fairy." (yeah, the language is still developing - isn't that cute)

It really is a mixed bag of emotions. So proud (I mean, look at her!), so happy, but also a twinge of sadness as I know that I will never be able to hold her at 7 lbs 4 ozs. And excitement!! Oh these last 2 years have been so exciting. You never know what she is going to say or do. Learning something new everyday. I wouldn't trade these times for anything.

So enjoy these pictures and marvel at the changes from the last two years. Make sure you click on the play button on the bottom once it loads to turn the pages.

Found a great quote. I think it fits me pretty well.

"We shall never know all the good a simple smile can do."

Anna's 2nd birthday party (x2)

Anna's first birthday party was up north, in WI, with family. Unfortunately, Jon caught some nasty bug and spent the entire party in our room. I don't think he came out once while everyone was there. Anna still enjoyed herself though and got lots of fantastic gifts. She really enjoyed the candles on the cake.

So much, in fact, that she had Grandma Lee light them twice!! (She did need a little help blowing them out but that did not  stop her from trying!)
A good friend, Shane, came out to enjoy the festivities!

Hello??
Destiny gets a little love from Clovis.
Anna's second birthday party was held in Knoxville, at home, with friends. This time Jon felt much better and was able to attend and help out. We continued the theme of Elmo, and I even made Elmo cupcakes. They look okay considering I couldn't make red frosting the night before so Jon had to go and buy some that morning. Thus, I was frosting the cupcakes as people were arriving! The kids enjoyed them so I am happy.

Anna enjoyed the company of lots of little friends and excellent gifts.

And finally, after everyone left, Anna passed out.

And last but not least, Jon says, "Thanks Amy!"
